Find a therapist with your own AI chat

Updated · 3 min read

If you use ChatGPT, Claude or Grok, it may already know a good deal about you: what you have been dealing with, what you tried before, what you want in a therapist. FrumHealth.org is set up so your AI can search the directory and pick providers who fit, without you having to explain everything again. You then see its picks here, with their photos.

How to start

On any page with the Wellness Shadchan box, press Ask your own AI beside it. This is the real one; try it here:

The Wellness Shadchan is private. What you type stays on this device.

It opens this panel. Pick your app. A new chat opens with a short prompt already typed in. The prompt is also copied, so if the app opens empty, paste it and send.

Ask your own AI. It searches FrumHealth.org using what it already knows about you.

The prompt asks your AI to:

  • use frumhealth.org/llms.txt, which explains how to search the directory
  • use what it already knows about you, and ask you something only if it knows nothing about you or one detail would change who fits
  • think about what makes each provider a good match for you, and give a brief reason for each, naming what fits: focus, approach, format, location, language or insurance
  • end with one link that opens those providers together on FrumHealth.org, with their photos

The answer in the chat is text. Most chat apps block photos from other sites, so you see the providers' photos when you open the link. Other apps work too, from the same panel.

The link at the end

The link opens a page called Personalized recommendations, with the name of the app that made it. It shows each provider's card with their photo, in the order your AI ranked them. From there you can open a profile, read more, and message, call or contact the provider.

The link holds only the providers' listing IDs and the app's name. Nothing you told your AI is in it, and the page will not display anything else that is added to the address. The list is kept on your device so you can find it again.

What your AI sees, and what we see

Your AI reads the same public information that is on every listing page: credentials, focus areas, location, languages, format, insurance and the provider's own summary. It does this from a single file, so it does not need to open each page.

We do not see your chat. What you tell ChatGPT or Claude is held by OpenAI or Anthropic under their own terms, not ours. When you open the link, we see that someone opened a list of those providers, the same as any page visit.

Photos

Your AI is told not to show photos in the chat and never to search the web for one, because a search can turn up a stranger with the same name. Every photo on the picks page is the one on the provider's own listing.

Sharing a list

You can make the same kind of link yourself. Open Saved in the directory, search for providers and tap to add them, then tap Create a list, pick up to five and drag them into order. When a provider shares a list this way, the link is signed with their listing key and the page says it came from them. See Make a referral list.

Without an AI

The Wellness Shadchan does the same matching in your browser. You describe what is going on in your own words, and nothing you type leaves your device.
