Progress, not perfection!
About
Yoely supports teens and adult men through a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, and mood disorders. He works collaboratively with clients to reduce symptoms, develop healthier coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, strengthen relationships, and enhance overall daily functioning.
Yoely is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Behavioral Activation, and DBT-informed interventions. He also participates in Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) and incorporates trauma-informed, strengths-based, and person-centered approaches based on each client's individual needs and goals.
In addition to his clinical work, Yoely is experienced in guiding and supporting families as they navigate the mental health system. He helps families better understand the different services, programs, and levels of care that may be available to their loved ones and assists them in identifying appropriate supports and resources. He understands that mental health challenges often affect the entire family and believes that helping families understand their options can be an important part of supporting an individual's overall progress.
Clients and families appreciate Yoely's calm, practical, and nonjudgmental presence, as well as his ability to create a space where difficult experiences can be discussed openly. When appropriate, he maintains consistent communication and collaboration with families, psychiatrists, medical providers, schools, and other members of the treatment team to support continuity of care.
Yoely wishes more people knew that therapy isn't only for moments of crisis. It can also be a powerful space for personal growth, greater self-awareness, stronger relationships, and discovering healthier ways of approaching everyday life.
His guiding motto is: “Progress, not perfection.”
