I use an attachment-based model to create a safe, non-judgmental space to help you learn how to accept and love yourself, while also learning new skills and ways of coping.

About

Hi! I'm Yocheved Jacobsohn, a Licensed Mental health counselor with over 15 years of experience. I am licensed in New York and New Jersey.

At times, life can feel overwhelming, leaving you anxious, stressed, and unsure of how to move forward. While these are very human and normal emotions, anxiety can sometimes start to take over day-to-day life, leading to patterns of avoidance or a sense that things will never really change. When that happens, it can feel isolating and exhausting, even when everything looks “fine” on the outside.

I specialize in helping women who struggle with anxiety, using a personalized approach rooted in understanding each person’s unique experience. My work focuses on breaking down overwhelming thoughts and feelings into manageable steps, so they feel less consuming and more workable. Together, we look at what is triggering the anxiety, how it shows up in your life, and how to begin shifting those patterns so you can regain a sense of confidence and control.

In addition to anxiety work, I also specialize in helping parents feel more confident in their parenting role and develop a deeper understanding of both themselves and their children. Parenting can bring up its own layers of stress, doubt, and emotional overwhelm, and I offer both support and practical guidance to help parents move through those challenges with more clarity and steadiness. The goal is to help you feel more grounded in your choices and more secure in your relationship with your child.

I use an attachment based model in my work, integrating various modalities to tailor treatment to each person rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all method. I am trained in CBT,ACT, IFS, Gestalt, and CPT and use them in my work. The sessions are collaborative and flexible, shaped around what you need most in order to move forward in a way that feels sustainable and authentic to you.
