About

I am a licensed clinical psychologist (New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Israel) with experience treating adults and emerging adults. I trained as a clinical psychologist where I received my doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus. I have worked in a wide variety of settings ranging from psychiatric hospitals, medical centers, mental health clinics, veteran’s hospitals, and college counseling centers. I received a Fulbright award to research trauma and posttraumatic growth. I completed an American Psychological Association accredited clinical internship and post-doctoral clinical fellowship at the New Jersey Veterans Affairs Health Care System, where I specialized in the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder, working with veterans and their families in PTSD residential units, substance use and outpatient PTSD clinics. I also have specialty training in peripartum issues (infertility, loss, peripartum depression and anxiety).

My therapeutic approach is first and foremost empathic, compassionate, and genuine. In my work, I strive to foster a warm, supportive, and judgement-free environment to help my clients reflect on their struggles and bring about change. Feeling respected, safe, and understood in treatment is necessary to begin the journey, and I aspire to create that space for each client.

In treatment, I view my clients holistically, helping them identify areas of difficulty and helping them access internal strengths and resilience. I work in an integrative way, working collaboratively with my clients to tailor and incorporate treatment approaches to their specific needs and goals. I find it valuable to explore the early roots of my clients’ difficulties and stressors and think together about the ways these earlier experiences have affected their development of self, their current struggles, and their relationships. I also help my clients recognize behavior and thought patterns that interfere with everyday life, and ways in which they can learn skills to cope with and help manage stressors.
