Dealing with serious health issues, we all have needs. We all have knowledge to share.

Let’s do that.

Frum Health was founded for people in our community who deal with long-term, serious, medical issues, looking to network with others that have similar challenges. To help share knowledge, information, or just give each other encouragement.

Because together, we are stronger.

Learn

Learning is critical to healing – and we are committed to helping people get there. There is information a group might know that NO ONE else will. Where to daven, how to travel, best schedules, what medications. The list goes on and on.

Encourage

Anyone with long term medical challenges can use encouragement. Just being there for others, listening and understanding, can make such a difference. You can encourage others. Others can encourage you.

Help

People in crisis need help. Sometimes you can help, sometimes you need help. Whether it is getting food, finding a ride, running an errand, or just help finding a babysitter. Everyone has something they need or can offer.

FAQ

General Information

What is Frum Health?

Frum Health is an organization dedicated to helping individuals who have or care for someone with serious health conditions, discover and network with others that have the same condition. We have found this to be an excellent way to find information, support, and get help.

What do you offer?

Currently, Frum Health consists of this website, and our FrumHealth Slack channel. In the future we hope to add additional informational services like a wiki or a knowledgebase.

How will this differ from a referral agency?

A referral agency is great for finding specific doctors or procedures. People who have been through medical difficulty learn will have a lot of other information. How to travel, where to stay, what equipment to use, which medications work well…. on and on. This is not information that is easily accessible. A forum of experienced people sharing information is therefore very powerful.

General Slack Questions

What is Slack?

Slack is a communication tool. Basically a fancy chat app. It is mostly accessed through an app you download from an app store. You can also use it in a web browser if you don’t have a smartphone.

Why Slack? Why not Whatsapp or something else?

One of Slacks great advantages is the ability to break groups into different chat groups. They call these “channels”. We decided this would be ideal for a health group where people would want to speak to ONLY people that have similar struggles but still be a part of a larger group.
